Williston Sales is an established manufacturers’ representative organization specializing in the Northeast region’s Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry.
Our founder and President, Stephen Williston, inherited his passion for the HVAC/R industry from his father, a respected leader in New England States and New York. Steve’s combined experience in sales and business management 30 years has cultivated strong relationships with distributors throughout the region, leveraging his extensive expertise in HVAC/R products.
We are committed to continuous improvement, constantly refining our business practices to better support the product lines we represent. We utilize the latest technology and tools to ensure our customers receive seamless service and excellent support. Our goal is to significantly enhance the visibility and presence of our product lines through strategic use of various marketing platforms, dynamic sales activities, and tailored corporate programs for each manufacturer. This approach is particularly effective for launching innovative products in the region, helping to build new market opportunities from scratch.
MEET THE SALES TEAM
Stephen Williston
Steve is the founder and President of Williston Sales. With 23 years of experience representing major HVAC/R corporations and 30 years in business, management, and sales, Steve’s extensive expertise and deep industry knowledge make him a respected leader in the field.
Growing up in the HVAC/R industry, Steve learned the ropes from his father, the late Jerry A. Williston, a revered industry figure. Working alongside his father in New England and Upstate New York, Steve developed the essential attributes of a successful Manufacturer Rep agency. This early exposure instilled in him a deep understanding of the industry and a commitment to excellence.
Steve excels at developing, introducing, and expanding new product lines in today’s competitive marketplace. His strategic insights and innovative solutions have consistently delivered outstanding results for clients.
Steve is a graduate of Providence College and holds numerous certifications, including Executive Management Proficiency Training, MANA Rep Agency Operations Training, and RSES Electrical and Refrigeration certification courses. He is also a proud member of the MANA, HARDI, and the AIM/R.
Steve’s leadership is characterized by a dedication to personalization, flexibility, and building strong client relationships. His vision continues to drive the company’s success, ensuring that they deliver exceptional service and innovative HVAC/R solutions to meet the evolving needs of their clients.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, and especially hiking with his loyal companion, Ocean. He also cherishes spending time with his family, with traveling together being one of their favorite activities.
James "JC" Kane
JC brings a dynamic sales approach to Williston Sales. Since earning his Marketing degree from Stonehill College in 2018, JC has built a solid foundation in sales and customer service. He began his career in restaurant POS and credit card processing, transitioning to the HVAC/R industry in 2020.
JC joined Williston Sales on July 27, 2020 and Steve mentored him into the business. His dedication and skills quickly made an impact, helping the team win the “Rep of the Year” award with Klein Tools in 2021.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and comprehensive sales training from Growth Dynamics, JC is well equipped with effective sales strategies and communication skills. His diverse background in marketing, sales, and customer service allows him to understand and meet a wide range of client needs.
Originally from Philadelphia, JC grew up in Chicago, and now resides in Boston. As a third-generation salesman, he has a deep passion for sales. Outside of work, JC is an avid NFL fan, especially of the Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoys music and travel.
JC is guided by his motto: “If you’re not taking care of your customer, your competitor will.” This quotes reflect his commitment to customer satisfaction and effective leadership, driving him to excel and lead with integrity in all aspects of his life and work.

MANA or Manufacturers’ Agents National Association focuses on the education and support of professional rep organizations. AIM/R or Association of Independent Manufacturers’ Representatives caters specifically to the HVAC and mechanical plumbing industry, offering annual conferences to update members on core functions, including legal, marketing, and communication. HARDI or Heating, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration Distributors International provides members with services, resources, and tools to advance the distribution of HVACR products and support business development and growth.
